20th January, 2015 was the day when one of the greatest Lithuanian poets of the 20th century, Alfonsas Čipkus, passed away. This year we commemorate our poet Alfonsas Čipkus, better known as Alfonsas Nyka – Niliūnas by embracing his lifetime in Vilnius from 1940 to 1942. In “Fragments of the Diary 1938 – 1970” Alfonas Čipkus mentions studying at the Faculty of Philology of Vilnius University, communicating with Vytautas Mačernis, his neighbor Koziulis and other poets. Furthermore, he writes about the beginning of the Second World War and the epidemic that took the lives of his friends. This projection is dedicated to remember the Lithuanian poet, the occurrence of the epidemic and World War II in Lithuania. The author of the video installation Karolina Galinauskaitė reads fragments from Alfonsas Nyka – Niliūnas’s diary.
