This Giant, descended from the Valley of the Universe, is several tens of thousands years old. His only task is to hang a new sun instead of an old one at the end of the year. The rest of the time he’s lying underground meditating. The end of the year is a magical time when the old sun goes out and needs to be replaced with a new one. The Giant is already holding the new sun in his hands brought by Nine-horn Stag and is waiting to hang it in the sky when the old sun goes out. So every year he tells us a story about this dramatic struggle of light and darkness, good and evil, that takes place every year.
