GABRIELĖ DIRMONTAITĖ - PROCESS
The idea is to convey the history of the Vilnius Academy of Arts using projections. The purpose of the idea is to introduce the viewer to the history of the creation of the Academy, as well as to give the impression that they are involved in the creative process. This is done using video footage of hands making art using various techniques. The understanding of history is helped by the fact that the video material is arranged in the order of the establishment of the departments. The beginning of the projection – the Department of Architecture (hands are shown drawing layouts), later other departments join in the same way:
- Department of Architecture 1793.
- Department of Drawing 1797.
- Department of Painting 1797
- Department of Art History 1803.
- Department of Sculpture 1803.
- Ceramics 1931.
- Industrial Art 1938.
- Graphics 1951.
- Textiles 1951
- Designs:
