ELEKTROPLAZMA & ROMA SALĖ (LT) – GHOST OF SPACE

When thinking about the development of technology and its future, one of the visions that comes to mind is the increasingly common and frequently used holographic image. The history of holography began in the mid-20th century, yet it’s important to note that the 18th century also played a role, as it was when the Pepper‘s Ghost illusion was first introduced. The effect was widely used to create ghostly silhouettes on the stage of the theater, when light, projected at an angle of 45 degrees onto a transparent surface, would create the illusion of a non-existing phantom with the help of generated reflections. Thus, the Pepper’s Ghost phenomenon became the starting point in the history of the holographic image, and began blurring the boundaries between the real and the imaginary. Considering such image evolution what part of reality can we trust this time?
